Ingredients

  • - Cofresh Whole Green Chilli 350g
  • - Rajah Jeera Whole Cumin Seeds
  • - Jalpur Carom Seeds Ajwain
  • 100 G East End Ground Coriander
  • 100G Ginger 100G
  • 1 Kg Potato New 1Kg
  • - Doves Farm Organic Chickpea Flour
  • 100 G Saras Turmeric Haldi Powder
  • 750 G Top-Op Table Salt Drums

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and peel the potatoes, then boil them until soft. Mash the boiled potatoes in a large mixing bowl and set aside.
  2. 2. Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and carom seeds, allowing them to sizzle and release their aroma.
  3. 3. Add finely chopped green chilli, ginger (ground into powder or finely chopped), and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
  4. 4. Stir in turmeric powder, chilli powder, ground coriander, and garam masala. Cook for another minute to blend the spices.
  5. 5. Add the mashed potatoes to the pan and mix well with the spice mixture. Season with salt to taste. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool.
  6. 6. In a separate bowl, prepare the batter by mixing chickpea flour with water to create a thick, smooth consistency. Add a pinch of turmeric powder and salt for flavor.
  7. 7. Shape the cooled potato mixture into small patties or balls. Dip each patty into the chickpea flour batter, ensuring it is fully coated.
  8. 8. Heat cooking oil in a deep frying pan or wok over medium-high heat. Fry the coated patties until golden brown and crispy. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  9. 9. Optional: Lightly roast peanuts in a dry pan and use them as a garnish or serve on the side for added texture.
  10. 10. Serve the Aloo Chop hot with your favorite chutney or dipping sauce.
