- 500 g Onion
- 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
- 200 g Table Salt
- 50 g Cumin Powder
- 55 g Paprika Powder
- - Good Life Corn Flour / Maize Starch 500 G
- 500 Ml Champion Oil
Instructions
- 1. Rinse 1 cup of maize meal (pap) under cold water and drain.
- 2. In a medium pot, bring 2 cups of water to a boil.
- 3. Gradually add the maize meal to the boiling water while stirring continuously to avoid lumps.
- 4. Reduce the heat to low and let the pap simmer for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally until it thickens.
- 5. In a separate pan, heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil over medium heat.
- 6. Add 1 finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- 7. Add 2 minced garlic cloves and cook for another minute.
- 8. Stir in 2 chopped tomatoes and cook until they soften and release their juices.
- 9. Add 1 teaspoon of tomato paste, 1/2 teaspoon of paprika, 1/2 teaspoon of cumin powder, and salt to taste. Mix well.
- 10. Cook the tomato sauce for 5-7 minutes until it thickens slightly.
- 11. Serve the hot pap in bowls and top with the prepared tomato sauce.
