Ingredients

  • 200 ml Ghee
  • 1 l Refined Soyabean Oil
  • 200 g Table Salt
  • 500 g Wheat Flour / Maida

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, add 500g of maida (refined flour) and a pinch of iodised salt to taste.
  2. 2. Gradually mix in water to the flour and knead it into a smooth and soft dough. Ensure the dough is not too sticky or too dry.
  3. 3. Once the dough is ready, cover it with a damp cloth and let it rest for about 20-30 minutes.
  4. 4. Divide the dough into small, equal-sized balls and roll each ball into a flat, round disc, around 3-4 inches in diameter.
  5. 5. Heat Mother Dairy Cow Ghee in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  6. 6. Carefully slide the rolled dough discs into the hot ghee, frying each side until it puffs up and turns golden brown.
  7. 7. Remove the luchis from the ghee and drain on paper towels to remove excess oil.
  8. 8. Serve the luchis hot with a side of Veeba Mayonnaise - Olive Oil or your choice of curry.
