Ingredients

  • 500 Grms Bajra Atta Millets Atta 500 Grms
  • - Green Peas
  • 250 g Carrot
  • 1 kg Bell Peppers
  • 500 g Onion
  • 300 g Ginger Paste
  • 200 ml Ghee
  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 50g Everest Garam Masala
  • 50G Green Chilies
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the millet thoroughly and soak it in water for 20 minutes. Drain and set aside.
  2. 2. Heat 1 tablespoon of ghee on a tawa (flat skillet) over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
  3. 3. Add chopped onion and sauté until golden brown. Mix in ginger paste and green chilies, cooking for another minute.
  4. 4. Add diced carrots, bell peppers, and green peas. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. 5. Stir in chopped tomatoes, turmeric powder, red chili powder, garam masala, and salt. Cook until the tomatoes turn soft and the spices are well blended.
  6. 6. Add the soaked millet and mix thoroughly with the vegetables and spices. Pour in enough water to cover the millet and stir well.
  7. 7. Cover the tawa and let the khichdi simmer on low heat for 15-20 minutes until the millet is fully cooked and the water is absorbed.
  8. 8. Uncover and drizzle the remaining ghee over the khichdi. Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and mix gently.
  9. 9. Serve hot as a wholesome breakfast, accompanied by yogurt or pickle for added flavor.
