  • - Jus Rol Puff Pastry Squares-1x5.2kg
  • 200G Wye Valley Tenderstem Broccoli
  • 500G Renourish Protect Broccoli And Cheddar
  • - Ktc Minced Garlic Paste
  • 100G Tata Sampann Garam Masala Tata Sampann Garam Masala, 45g
  • 1 Kg Sapna Ginger Paste 1kg
  • 500 G Brown & Polson Cornflour

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (180°C fan) and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. 2. Prepare the vegetable filling: Chop the tenderstem broccoli and green beans into bite-sized pieces. Steam or blanch them for 3-4 minutes until tender but still vibrant.
  3. 3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the yogurt, minced garlic paste, ginger paste, and garam masala. Mix well to create a creamy tikka marinade.
  4. 4. Add the steamed vegetables (tenderstem broccoli and green beans) to the tikka marinade. Stir until the vegetables are evenly coated.
  5. 5. Roll out the puff pastry squares onto a clean surface. Cut into desired pie shapes (e.g., squares or circles) if not pre-cut.
  6. 6. Spoon the vegetable tikka mixture onto one half of each pastry square, leaving space around the edges for sealing.
  7. 7. Grate mature cheddar cheese and sprinkle a generous amount over the vegetable tikka mixture for added flavor.
  8. 8. Beat one egg in a small bowl to create an egg wash. Brush the edges of the pastry squares with the egg wash, then fold the pastry over to seal the pies. Press the edges with a fork to ensure they are tightly sealed.
  9. 9. Brush the tops of the pies with the egg wash for a golden finish. Place the pies onto the prepared baking tray.
  10. 10. Bake the pies in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed.
  11. 11. While the pies are baking, prepare a side dish using cornmeal. Follow package instructions to make a simple polenta or cornbread to accompany the pies.
  12. 12. Once the pies are baked, remove them from the oven and let them cool slightly before serving. Serve warm with the polenta or cornbread on the side.
  13. 13. Optional: Drizzle cooking oil over the pies or polenta for added richness before serving.
