Ingredients
- 1 Kg Yellow/White Onion 1kg
- 100 G Jumbo Garlic 100g
- - Ginger - 100g
- - Ktc Vegetable Oil
- 500 Ml Lee Kum Kee Double Deluxe Soy, 500Ml
- 50G Pepper Black Ground BWFO
- NaN Godavari Sona Masoori Raw Rice
Instructions
- 1. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a skillet or electric frypan over medium heat. Add 1 diced onion and 1 minced clove of garlic, stirring until fragrant, about 2 minutes.
- 2. Add 1/2 cup diced onion to the skillet and sauté until softened, about 5-7 minutes.
- 3. Season the sautéed onion with 3/4 tbsp grated ginger and 1/2 tsp black pepper, stirring to coat.
- 4. Push the sautéed onion to the center of the skillet, slightly overlapping it. Pour 2 1/4 cups water around the onion and stir in 2 tbsp soy sauce and 1 cup uncooked rice.
- 5. Cover the skillet and let it simmer over low heat for about 35 minutes, or until the rice is cooked and tender.
- 6. Check the skillet and add 1/4 cup water if needed to prevent sticking. Stir gently to combine.
- 7. Serve the rice hot, garnished with fresh herbs if desired.
