- 1 Kg Jersey Royal Potatoes
- 2.27L / 4 Pints British Whole Milk 2.27L / 4 Pints
- 50G Pepper Black Ground BWFO
- 200G Arla Lactofree Mature Cheddar Cheese
- 200G Yeo Valley Organic Salted Butter
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- 2. Peel and slice the potatoes into thin, even slices.
- 3. Grease a baking dish with olive oil spread.
- 4. Layer half of the potato slices in the bottom of the prepared dish.
- 5. In a saucepan, melt salted butter over medium heat.
- 6. Add garlic paste to the melted butter and sauté until fragrant.
- 7. Stir in corn flour and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
- 8. Gradually whisk in milk until the mixture is smooth and starts to thicken.
- 9. Add grated lactose-free mature cheddar cheese to the sauce and stir until melted and smooth.
- 10. Season the cheese sauce with fine sea salt and black pepper powder to taste.
- 11. Pour half of the cheese sauce over the layered potatoes in the dish.
- 12. Add the remaining potato slices on top.
- 13. Pour the remaining cheese sauce evenly over the potatoes.
- 14. Cover the dish with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- 15. Remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the potatoes are tender.
