- - Sunita Lemon Juice Organic
- 1 Kg Trade Aid Caster Sugar 1kg
- - Natco Ground Cinnamon 100g
- 50G Top-Op Clove Powder 50g
- - Bart Allspice Ground 40g
Instructions
- 1. Wash and dry the plums thoroughly.
- 2. Place the plums in a large, non-reactive bowl or jar.
- 3. In a saucepan, combine 2 cups of lemon juice, 6 cups of sugar, 1 tablespoon of ground cinnamon, 1 tablespoon of ground clove, 1 teaspoon of ground allspice. Bring the mixture to a boil and simmer for 10 minutes.
- 4. Pour the hot spiced syrup over the plums, ensuring they are fully submerged. Cover the bowl or jar and let it sit overnight at room temperature.
- 5. The next day, drain the liquid from the plums into a saucepan and bring it to a boil again.
- 6. Add the plums to the boiling syrup and cook gently until the plums are translucent but still hold their shape, about 10-15 minutes.
- 7. Carefully pack the cooked plums into clean, hot jars, leaving some space at the top. Pour the hot syrup over the plums to cover them completely.
- 8. Seal the jars immediately and allow them to cool. Store in a cool, dark place.
- 9. Serve the spiced plums as a side dish or dessert, ensuring they retain their vibrant color and firm texture.
