Instructions
- 1. Heat a large pan over medium heat and add 1 tablespoon of cooking oil. Add 1 diced onion and 1 diced green pepper, cooking until softened and translucent, about 5 minutes.
- 2. Add 1 lb of ground beef to the pan and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks, about 8-10 minutes. Drain any excess fat if necessary.
- 3. Stir in 1 teaspoon of chili powder and 1 teaspoon of salt, mixing well to coat the beef and vegetables with the spices.
- 4. Add 1 can of diced tomatoes, 1 can of tomato sauce, 1 can of beans (drained and rinsed), 2 bouillon cubes dissolved in 1 cup of hot water, and 1 teaspoon of soy sauce. Stir to combine.
- 5. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer uncovered for at least 4 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 6. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed before serving. Serve hot with your favorite toppings or sides.
