A simple and delicious roast turkey recipe perfect for dinner, featuring halal-certified turkey and a rich homemade gravy made from drippings.
Ingredients
- 80 Ml Ladolea Set Of 2 Lemon & Oregano Infused Extra Virgin Olive Oil, 80Ml
- 60G Terre Exotique Black Sao Tome Pepper, 60G
- - Potts Vegetable Stock Can
- Medium Thanksgiving Whole Turkey
- - Tata Salt
- 500 G Brown & Polson Cornflour
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 325°F (163°C).
- 2. Wash the halal-certified turkey thoroughly and pat it dry with paper towels.
- 3. Cut off the wing tips and place the turkey in a large greased shallow baking pan.
- 4. Drizzle the entire top of the turkey with olive oil and sprinkle evenly with salt and pepper.
- 5. Place the turkey in the oven and roast for 1 hour.
- 6. After 1 hour, open the oven and cover the turkey loosely with aluminum foil. Continue roasting for 3 more hours.
- 7. Remove the turkey from the oven and let it stand for 45 minutes before carving.
- 8. Transfer the turkey to a large serving plate.
- 9. To prepare the gravy, pour the drippings from the baking pan into a large measuring cup and let the fat rise to the top.
- 10. Skim off the fat and transfer the brown juices into a saucepan.
- 11. In a small bowl, make a slurry by mixing 2 tablespoons of cornflour with 4 tablespoons of vegetable stock.
- 12. Bring the brown juices to a boil in the saucepan, then slowly add the slurry while stirring continuously until the gravy reaches your desired consistency.
- 13. Boil the gravy for an additional 2 minutes, then remove from heat.
- 14. Serve the roast turkey with the homemade gravy on the side.
