Ingredients
- - Thomas Ridley Fresh British Beef Mince
- 2 Kg Albert Bartlett Butter Gold Potatoes
- 500G Natoora French Mixed Heritage Carrots
- 1 Kg Fresh Onion Pack. 1kg - Ofoodi African Store
- - Cathedral City Mature Cheddar Cheese
- 500 Ml Daylesford Organic Hot & Sour Vegetable Broth
Instructions
- 1. Brown 500 g halal ground beef in a skillet over medium heat until fully cooked, then drain any excess fat.
- 2. Peel 2 large potatoes and grate them into hash brown-sized shreds. Set aside.
- 3. Peel and grate 2 medium carrots, and finely dice 1 large onion.
- 4. Use 1 cup of hot & sour vegetable broth as-is.
- 5. In an electric skillet or crock-pot, layer the cooked ground beef, grated potatoes, grated carrots, and diced onion in that order.
- 6. Pour the vegetable broth evenly over the layered ingredients.
- 7. Cover and cook at 250°F in the electric skillet for 1 hour, or on the low setting in the crock-pot for 8 hours.
- 8. Just before serving, sprinkle 1 cup of shredded cheese over the top and allow it to melt for 5 minutes.
- 9. Serve hot and enjoy your hearty casserole.
