Ingredients
- Pack Tray Of 30 Medium Free Range Eggs
- 95 Ml Dr. Oetker Large Vanilla Extract
- 350G Meridian Organic Molasses
- - Anchor Salted Butter 200g
- - Ceylon Cinnamon Quills BWFO
- - Schwartz Ground Nutmeg
- 1 Kg White Granulated Sugar
- 1.5 Kg Matthews Cotswold Organic Plain Flour, 1.5Kg
- 400G Natco Ginger Powder 400g
Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and line two baking trays with parchment paper.
- 2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together 200g of butter and 200g of white granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- 3. Beat in 1 medium egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until well combined.
- 4. In a separate bowl, sift together 300g of plain flour, 1 teaspoon of ground nutmeg, 1 teaspoon of ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon of ground cloves, 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, and 1 teaspoon of baking soda.
- 5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms. If the dough is too sticky, add a little more plain flour, 1 tablespoon at a time, until it is manageable.
- 6. Lightly flour your work surface with plain flour and roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- 7. Use cookie cutters to cut out shapes from the dough and place them on the prepared baking trays, leaving some space between each cookie.
- 8. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden. Be careful not to overbake.
- 9. Remove the cookies from the oven and let them cool on the baking trays for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
- 10. Once cooled, decorate the cookies as desired or enjoy them plain!
