Ingredients

  • 2.27L / 4 Pints British Whole Milk 2.27L / 4 Pints
  • 1 Jar Rowse Clear Honey
  • 510G Companion Sweetened Red Bean Paste
  • 6 Each Golden Yolk Eggs 6 Pack
  • - Anchor Salted Butter 200g
  • 1 Kg White Granulated Sugar
  • 1 Kg Heera Maida Flour,1kg

Instructions

  1. 1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together 2 Golden Yolk Eggs and 50g of White Granulated Sugar until the mixture becomes pale and frothy.
  2. 2. Add 1 tablespoon of Rowse Clear Honey and 100ml of British Whole Milk to the egg mixture. Whisk until well combined.
  3. 3. Sift 120g of Heera Maida Flour and 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda (use a food-safe baking soda, not the household cleaner) into the wet mixture. Gently fold the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until a smooth batter forms. Be careful not to overmix.
  4. 4. Cover the batter with cling film and let it rest in the refrigerator for 30 minutes. This helps the batter thicken and ensures fluffier pancakes.
  5. 5. Heat a non-stick frying pan over low to medium heat. Lightly grease the pan with a small amount of Anchor Salted Butter.
  6. 6. Pour a small ladleful of batter (about 2-3 tablespoons) onto the pan to form a round pancake. Cook for 1-2 minutes, or until bubbles appear on the surface and the edges start to set.
  7. 7. Flip the pancake and cook the other side for another 1-2 minutes, or until golden brown. Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the pan as needed. You should have an even number of pancakes to form pairs.
  8. 8. Once the pancakes have cooled slightly, spread a generous amount of Companion Sweetened Red Bean Paste onto the flat side of one pancake. Place another pancake on top, flat side down, to form a sandwich.
  9. 9. Serve the Dorayaki immediately, or store them in an airtight container for up to 1 day. Enjoy your homemade Japanese Dorayaki!
