Instructions
- 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a baking dish lightly with butter.
- 2. Core and slice 4 apples into thin wedges and arrange them evenly in the greased baking dish.
- 3. Sprinkle 1/2 tablespoon of lemon juice over the apples and add 1 tablespoon of vegetable broth to the dish.
- 4. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon, 2/3 cup of flour, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
- 5. Add 1/3 cup of softened butter to the dry mixture and work it in with your fingers or a fork until it forms a crumbly texture.
- 6. Mix 1 cup of grated cheese into the crumbly mixture until evenly distributed.
- 7. Spread the cheese and crumb mixture evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
- 8. Bake in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, or until the apples are tender and the topping is golden and crisp.
- 9. Remove from the oven and let it cool slightly before serving warm.
