  • 450G Onken Natural Set Yogurt
  • 400G Daucy Potatoes 400G
  • 1 Packet Curry Leaves (1 Packet)
  • 1 L Ktc Sunflower Oil
  • 750 G Top-Op Table Salt Drums
  • NaN Trs Gram Flour
  • NaN Trs Haldi Powder Turmeric

Instructions

  1. 1. Begin by preparing the batter for the bondas. In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, a pinch of salt, and a small amount of water. Mix until you achieve a thick, smooth batter. Set aside.
  2. 2. Grate the coconut and set it aside. This will be used for the filling or garnish, depending on your preference.
  3. 3. Finely chop the green chillies and crush the ginger root into smaller pieces. These will add spice and flavor to the bondas.
  4. 4. Heat a small amount of cooking oil in a pan. Once hot, add cumin seeds and let them sizzle for a few seconds to release their aroma.
  5. 5. Add the chopped green chillies and crushed ginger to the pan. Sauté for a minute until fragrant. Remove from heat and let the mixture cool.
  6. 6. Once the spice mixture has cooled, mix it into the prepared batter. Stir well to ensure the flavors are evenly distributed.
  7. 7. If you wish to add a tangy flavor, you can mix a small amount of yogurt into the batter. This step is optional and not traditional for bondas.
  8. 8. IMPORTANT: Baking soda or any non-food-grade cleaner should NOT be used in this recipe. Discard or set it aside for non-food cleaning purposes.
  9. 9. Heat enough cooking oil in a deep frying pan or wok for deep frying. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop spoonfuls of the batter into the oil. Fry the bondas in batches until they are golden brown and crispy.
  10. 10. Remove the fried bondas from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  11. 11. Serve the bondas hot with a side of coconut chutney or any dipping sauce of your choice. Optionally, garnish with the grated coconut for added flavor and presentation.
