Ingredients

  • 190G Natco Garlic & Ginger Paste, 190G
  • 1 Kg Fresh Onion Pack. 1kg - Ofoodi African Store
  • 1 L Crisp N Dry Oil
  • - Marnoto Hand Harvest Fine Sea Salt
  • 100G Natco Cumin Seeds, 100G
  • 100G Natco Kashmiri Chilli Powder, 100G

Instructions

  1. 1. Clean and wash the bombil fish thoroughly, then pat it dry using a kitchen towel.
  2. 2. Chop the coriander (kothambir/sambhar) and set aside.
  3. 3. Chop the onions and Petti 100% Italian Chopped Tomatoes into small pieces.
  4. 4. In a mixing bowl, marinate the bombil fish with 1 tablespoon of turmeric powder, 1 tablespoon of Natco Kashmiri Chilli Powder, and a pinch of Marnoto Hand Harvest Fine Sea Salt. Let it rest for 15-20 minutes.
  5. 5. Heat a pan over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of cooking oil.
  6. 6. Add 1 teaspoon of Natco Cumin Seeds to the hot oil, and let them splutter.
  7. 7. Add the chopped onions to the pan and sauté until they turn golden brown.
  8. 8. Stir in 25 g of Natco Garlic & Ginger Paste and cook for 2-3 minutes until the raw smell disappears.
  9. 9. Add the chopped Petti 100% Italian Chopped Tomatoes to the pan and cook until they become soft and mushy.
  10. 10. Lower the flame and gently lay the marinated bombil fish into the pan in a single layer.
  11. 11. Cook the fish for 5-6 minutes on each side until it is completely cooked and blends with the spices.
  12. 12. Sprinkle the chopped coriander over the fish, cover, and cook for an additional 2 minutes.
  13. 13. Turn off the heat and let the dish rest for a few minutes before serving.
