Ingredients

  • 40G Terre Exotique "Extra" Turmeric Powder, 40G
  • - Jalpur Curry Powder
  • 200G All Things Butter Unsalted Butter
  • 1 Kg Fresh Onion Pack. 1kg - Ofoodi African Store
  • 500G White Pearl Italian Pudding Rice 500g
  • 60G Terre Exotique Cheeselovers Pepper, 60G
  • 500 Ml Daylesford Organic Hot & Sour Vegetable Broth

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2. Melt 1/4 cup butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. 3. Add 1 chopped onion and 1 1/2 cups rice to the skillet; cook and stir until the rice turns yellow and the onion becomes tender, about 5 minutes.
  4. 4. Stir in 1/2 teaspoon salt, 1/2 teaspoon allspice, 1/2 teaspoon turmeric, 1/4 teaspoon curry powder, and 1/8 teaspoon pepper.
  5. 5. Transfer the rice mixture to an ungreased 2-quart casserole dish.
  6. 6. Heat 3 1/2 cups vegetable broth to boiling and pour it over the rice mixture in the casserole dish.
  7. 7. Cover the casserole tightly with a lid or aluminum foil and bake for 30 to 40 minutes, or until the liquid is absorbed and the rice is tender.
  8. 8. Remove from the oven, fluff the rice with a fork, and serve warm.
