Ingredients

  • 50G Pepper Black Ground BWFO
  • 8 Per Pack Orchardworld Apple Box
  • 4 Per Pack Albert Bartlett Butter Gold Bakers
  • 400G Flora Plant Spreadable
  • 2.27L / 4 Pints British Whole Milk 2.27L / 4 Pints
  • - Knorr Stock Cubes Vegetable
  • 10G Top-Op Bay Leaves 10g
  • - Silver Spoon Granulated Sugar
  • 250Ml Ktc Coconut Oil 250ml

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat the oven to 170° C/gas mark 3. Heat half the butter in a frying pan, and sauté the quartered onions until golden. Transfer them to a suitably sized casserole dish and season with black pepper.
  2. 2. Pour 250ml of milk into the frying pan, add the vegetable stock cubes, and warm gently until the stock cubes have dissolved. Pour this mixture over the onions in the casserole dish and add the thyme and bay leaves. Bake for 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 hours.
  3. 3. Cut the apples into eight slices. Heat the remaining butter in a frying pan and fry the apple slices until golden. Add the sugar and cook until the mixture begins to caramelize.
  4. 4. Boil the peeled and chopped potatoes until tender. Drain and mash with the milk and coconut oil. Season with black pepper to taste.
  5. 5. Remove the onions from the casserole dish to a warm serving plate, and reduce the liquid slightly in the casserole dish. Pour the reduced liquid over the onions and garnish with the caramelized apples. Serve with the mashed potatoes and your choice of steamed vegetables.
