About this recipe

A refreshing and tangy cucumber dish, lightly spiced and perfect for a Jain-friendly dinner. This quick and easy recipe balances crisp cucumbers with a flavorful vinegar dressing.

Ingredients

  • 450 G English Cucumber 450-550g
  • - Sunita Lemon Juice Organic
  • - Silver Spoon Granulated Sugar
  • 20G Thai "Hand" White Pepper Powder, 20G
  • - Tata Salt
  • - Mccormick Cumin Powder

Instructions

  1. 1. Peel the cucumbers, leaving some green skin for texture and color.
  2. 2. Using a fork, score the cucumbers lengthwise to create a decorative pattern, then slice them as thinly as possible.
  3. 3. Place the cucumber slices in a bowl and sprinkle with salt. Let them sit at room temperature for 1-2 hours to release excess water.
  4. 4. Drain the cucumbers thoroughly, pressing gently to remove as much liquid as possible.
  5. 5. In a small bowl, mix lemon juice, sugar, white pepper, and a pinch of cumin powder. Stir until the sugar dissolves completely.
  6. 6. Pour the vinegar mixture over the drained cucumbers and toss well to coat evenly.
  7. 7. Let the cucumbers marinate for 10-15 minutes before serving. Serve chilled or at room temperature as a light dinner side dish.
