- 1 Kg Fresh Onion Pack. 1kg - Ofoodi African Store
- 280G Caprichos Del Paladar Roasted Chopped Tomatoes, 280G
- 100G Fresh Spices Fresh Small Green Chillies
- - Silver Spoon Granulated Sugar
- 70G Mill & Mortar Citrus Salt Flakes, 70G
- 200 Ml Minus 8 Vinegar Dehydr8, 200Ml
- 85G Oriental Hot Mustard Powder, 85G
- - Natco Ground Cinnamon 100g
- 50 g Dry Ginger | Sukku | Sonth | Chukku | Sonti | Onashunti Powder 50G
Instructions
- 1. In a small piece of cheesecloth, combine 2 heaping teaspoons of ground mustard, 2 teaspoons of ground cinnamon, and 1 teaspoon of ground ginger. Tie the cloth securely to form a spice pouch.
- 2. Scald 2 cans of chopped tomatoes in boiling water for 1-2 minutes, then transfer them to an ice bath. Peel off any skins and chop the tomatoes into small pieces.
- 3. Finely chop 6 medium onions and 4 green chillies (use gloves to handle the chillies safely).
- 4. In a large pot, combine the chopped tomatoes, onions, and green chillies. Add 1/4 cup of sugar, 1/4 cup of salt, and 4 cups of vinegar. Stir well to combine.
- 5. Place the spice pouch into the pot and bring the mixture to a boil over medium heat. Reduce the heat to low and simmer uncovered for about 3 hours, stirring occasionally, until the mixture thickens.
- 6. Remove the spice pouch and discard it. Let the relish cool slightly before transferring it to sterilized jars. Seal and store in the refrigerator or process for long-term storage. Serve with your favorite vegetables.
