- 1 Kg Ktc Pure Butter Ghee
- 150 G Fudco Soya Chunks
- 250G Nice Rice Wholegrain Basmati
- 400G Koko Dairy Free Plain Yogurt Alternative
- 100 G Saras Turmeric Haldi Powder
- - Marnoto Hand Harvest Fine Sea Salt
- 45G Natco Cinnamon Sticks, 45G
- 190G Natco Garlic & Ginger Paste, 190G
- 100G Natco Kashmiri Chilli Powder, 100G
- 100G East End Garam Masala Powder
Instructions
- 1. Rinse 1 cup of wholegrain basmati rice thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear. Soak the rice in water for about 20 minutes, then drain.
- 2. Soak 150g of soya chunks in hot water for 10 minutes to soften, then drain and squeeze out the excess water.
- 3. Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a large pan over medium heat. Add 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, 2 cinnamon sticks, and sautéing until fragrant.
- 4. Add 1 finely chopped onion to the pan and saute until golden brown.
- 5. Stir in 1 tablespoon of garlic & ginger paste and cook for 1 minute until the raw smell disappears.
- 6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until it becomes soft, then add 1 teaspoon of turmeric powder, 1 teaspoon of Kashmiri chilli powder, and fine sea salt to taste.
- 7. Mix in 1 diced capsicum and the soaked soya chunks, cooking for 2-3 minutes.
- 8. Add the soaked and drained wholegrain basmati rice to the pan. Mix gently to combine with the spices and vegetables.
- 9. Pour in 2 cups of water, 1 teaspoon of garam masala powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of curry powder. Stir well.
- 10. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover the pan and let it simmer for 12-15 minutes until the rice is cooked and water is absorbed.
- 11. Fluff the rice gently with a fork and serve hot. Enjoy your Soya Pulao with yogurt or a side salad.
