Ingredients

  • 1kg 1kg Green Pepper
  • 500 G Elite Double Roasted Rava Semolina
  • 800G Kingsmill Soft White Medium Bread 800G
  • 1 Bunch Coriander - Bunch
  • - Chilli Powder Rajah
  • 1 L Crisp N Dry Oil
  • 200 G Trs Black Salt 200 G

Instructions

  1. 1. Begin by preparing the vegetables: finely chop the green pepper and a few green chillies (to taste). Set aside.
  2. 2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of semolina, a pinch of black salt, a pinch of ground black pepper, and a pinch of chilli powder. Mix well.
  3. 3. Add 1/2 cup of water to the semolina mixture and stir to form a thick batter. Let it rest for 10 minutes to allow the semolina to absorb the water.
  4. 4. While the batter rests, crumble tofu into small pieces and set aside.
  5. 5. After 10 minutes, check the batter consistency. If it is too thick, add a little more water to achieve a spreadable consistency.
  6. 6. Add the chopped green pepper, green chillies, and crumbled tofu to the batter. Mix well to evenly distribute the ingredients.
  7. 7. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and add a small amount of cooking oil or butter (as per your preference).
  8. 8. Take a slice of bread and spread a generous layer of the prepared batter on one side of the bread.
  9. 9. Place the bread, batter-side down, onto the heated pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes or until the batter is golden and crispy.
  10. 10. Flip the bread and toast the other side for 1-2 minutes until it is lightly golden.
  11. 11. Remove the toast from the pan and repeat the process with the remaining bread slices and batter.
  12. 12. Garnish the Sooji Toast with a sprinkle of coriander leaves for added flavor and serve hot with your favorite chutney or dip.
