Ingredients
- - Schwartz Coriander Leaf Jar
- - Cofresh Whole Green Chilli 350g
- - Ktc Vegetable Oil
- - Asafoetida Bwfo Free Uk Mainland P&P
- - Tata Salt
- - Silver Spoon Granulated Sugar
- 250 Ml Kikkoman Less Salt Soy Sauce
- 400 g Manning Impex Frozen Tempeh 400G
Instructions
- 1. Cut 500 g of firm tofu into small cubes and set aside.
- 2. Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- 3. Add 1/4 tsp of asafoetida (hing) and 1 chopped green chili to the pan; sauté for 1 minute until aromatic.
- 4. Add the tofu cubes to the pan and stir-fry until they are golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
- 5. Stir in 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of sugar, and 3 tbsp of soy sauce, mixing well to coat the tofu evenly.
- 6. Add 1/2 cup of water to the pan, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
- 7. Add 1 lb of peeled and cooked chestnuts to the pan, stir gently, and simmer uncovered for another 15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- 8. Garnish with 2 tbsp of chopped fresh cilantro and serve hot.
