Savory Chestnut Tofu Stir-Fry recipe

Ingredients

  • - Schwartz Coriander Leaf Jar
  • - Cofresh Whole Green Chilli 350g
  • - Ktc Vegetable Oil
  • - Asafoetida Bwfo Free Uk Mainland P&P
  • - Tata Salt
  • - Silver Spoon Granulated Sugar
  • 250 Ml Kikkoman Less Salt Soy Sauce
  • 400 g Manning Impex Frozen Tempeh 400G

Instructions

  1. 1. Cut 500 g of firm tofu into small cubes and set aside.
  2. 2. Heat 3 tbsp of oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  3. 3. Add 1/4 tsp of asafoetida (hing) and 1 chopped green chili to the pan; sauté for 1 minute until aromatic.
  4. 4. Add the tofu cubes to the pan and stir-fry until they are golden brown on all sides, about 5-7 minutes.
  5. 5. Stir in 1 tsp of salt, 1 tsp of sugar, and 3 tbsp of soy sauce, mixing well to coat the tofu evenly.
  6. 6. Add 1/2 cup of water to the pan, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes.
  7. 7. Add 1 lb of peeled and cooked chestnuts to the pan, stir gently, and simmer uncovered for another 15 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  8. 8. Garnish with 2 tbsp of chopped fresh cilantro and serve hot.
