Ingredients
- - Patra/Colocasia Leaves
- 100 G Jumbo Garlic 100g
- 1 Kg Fresh Onion Pack. 1kg - Ofoodi African Store
- - Ginger - 100g
- - Rajah Whole Red Chillies
- - Ktc Coconut Milk 400ml
- 750 G Top-Op Table Salt Drums
- 1 L Crisp N Dry Oil
- 1 Kg White Granulated Sugar
Instructions
- 1. Prepare the ingredients: Wash the Patra/Colocasia Leaves thoroughly and set them aside. Peel and finely chop the Jumbo Garlic, Fresh Onion, and Ginger. Measure out the required amounts of Top-Op Table Salt, Crisp N Dry Oil, Rajah Whole Red Chillies, White Granulated Sugar, and Ktc Coconut Milk.
- 2. Heat a large pan over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of Crisp N Dry Oil. Once the oil is hot, sauté the chopped Garlic, Onion, and Ginger until fragrant and lightly golden.
- 3. Add the Rajah Whole Red Chillies to the pan and stir for about 1 minute to release their flavor.
- 4. Pour the Ktc Coconut Milk into the pan and bring it to a gentle simmer. Stir well to combine the flavors.
- 5. Add the Patra/Colocasia Leaves to the pan, ensuring they are fully submerged in the coconut milk. Reduce the heat to low and let the leaves cook for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 6. Season the dish with Top-Op Table Salt and White Granulated Sugar to taste. Adjust the seasoning as needed to balance the flavors.
- 7. Continue cooking until the coconut milk has thickened and the leaves are tender, absorbing the flavors of the sauce.
- 8. Serve the Laing hot with steamed rice or as a side dish. Enjoy your traditional Filipino Laing Recipe Kit!
