Ingredients

  • 500 G Trs Green Lentils
  • 500 G Fresh Vine Tomato 500g
  • 250 G Veenas Fresh Garlic
  • 100 G Saras Turmeric Haldi Powder
  • 100G Natco Kala Namak (Black Salt) 100g

Instructions

  1. 1. Wash and soak the basmati rice in water for 20 minutes, then drain it completely.
  2. 2. Heat oil in a pan and sauté sliced onions until golden brown, then set them aside.
  3. 3. In the same pan, add cloves, cardamom, cinnamon, and bay leaf; fry until aromatic.
  4. 4. Add ginger-garlic paste and green chilies, sauté for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  5. 5. Stir in chopped tomatoes, turmeric, red chili powder, and biryani masala; cook until soft.
  6. 6. Add curd (or plant-based alternative), mixed vegetables, and salt; cook for 5 minutes.
  7. 7. Layer half of the cooked rice in a heavy-bottomed pot, followed by the vegetable mixture.
  8. 8. Add the remaining rice on top and garnish with fried onions, mint leaves, and coriander leaves.
  9. 9. Cover the pot with a tight-fitting lid and cook on low heat for 15 minutes (dum style).
  10. 10. Remove from heat and let it rest for 5 minutes before opening the lid.
  11. 11. Gently mix the layers without breaking the rice grains, ensuring even distribution.
  12. 12. Serve the biryani hot with raita or a side salad.
