Instructions

  1. 1. Heat a large frypan over medium heat and brown 900 g of lean ground beef until fully cooked, breaking it into small pieces as it cooks. Drain any excess grease.
  2. 2. Transfer the cooked ground beef to a crock-pot. Add 1 cup of finely chopped onion, 1/4 teaspoon of garlic powder, 2 teaspoons of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of italian seasoning, 2 tablespoons of basil, and 1 cup of sliced mushrooms.
  3. 3. Stir the mixture thoroughly with a fork until all ingredients are evenly combined.
  4. 4. Add 1 can (400 g) of tomato sauce, 1 can (400 g) of tomato puree, 1 can (170 g) of passata, and 1 large diced tomato to the crock-pot. Mix everything together until well blended.
  5. 5. Cover the crock-pot and cook on the low setting for 12 to 15 hours, or on the high setting for 4 to 7 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  6. 6. Once the sauce has thickened and the flavors have melded together, taste and adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot over your favorite pasta or use as a base for other dishes.
