  • 1 Pc Gopuff Morrisons Cabbage
  • 1 Kg Red Onion 1kg
  • 250G Garlic 250g
  • 100G Ginger 100G
  • - Tata Salt
  • 400 g Trs Turmeric Powder 400G

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the masoor dal thoroughly under cold water until the water runs clear, then set it aside.
  2. 2. Heat 2 tablespoons of vegetable oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida, stirring for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  3. 3. Add the chopped tomatoes, bell peppers, shredded cabbage, and green beans to the pot. Stir well and cook for 4-5 minutes until the vegetables begin to soften.
  4. 4. Add the rinsed masoor dal, turmeric powder, coriander powder, and salt to the pot. Stir to combine and let the spices coat the ingredients evenly.
  5. 5. Pour enough water into the pot to cover the ingredients by about two inches. Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low and let it simmer for 25-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the lentils are tender and the soup reaches the desired consistency.
  6. 6. Once cooked, remove the pot from heat and stir in the lemon juice for a touch of brightness.
  7. 7. Garnish with freshly chopped coriander and serve the soup hot in bowls. Enjoy with a side of warm flatbread or on its own.
