Instructions

  1. 1. In a small saucepan, combine 1/2 cup butter, 1/2 teaspoon oregano, 1/2 teaspoon basil, 1/2 teaspoon thyme, 1/2 teaspoon sage, and 1 minced clove of garlic. Heat slowly over low heat until the butter is melted and the herbs are fragrant.
  2. 2. Remove the herb butter from heat and let it stand for 15 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  3. 3. Preheat your grill to medium-high heat and lightly grease the grates to prevent sticking.
  4. 4. Season 1 1/2 pounds of salmon fillets with 1 teaspoon of salt and place them skin-side down on the grill.
  5. 5. Brush the salmon generously with the prepared herb butter sauce and grill for 4 to 6 minutes on each side, basting with more sauce as it cooks, until the salmon is opaque and flakes easily with a fork.
  6. 6. Remove the salmon from the grill and serve immediately, drizzling any remaining herb butter sauce over the top for extra flavor.
