Ingredients

  • 200G Mergulo Original Plant-Based Butter
  • 15 Kg Caputo Red Strong Flour, 15Kg
  • - Tata Salt
  • 113G Royal Baking Powder Tin, 113G
  • 100 G Trs Ground Cumin Jeera Powder
  • - Caputo Semolina Rimacinata Flour

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 1/2 cups flour, 1/4 cup semolina flour, 1 1/2 teaspoons salt, 1/2 teaspoon baking powder, and 1 teaspoon cumin. Gradually add water while stirring to form a smooth, lump-free batter.
  2. 2. Preheat a grill pan or flat skillet over medium heat and lightly grease it with butter or a Jain-friendly alternative like ghee.
  3. 3. Pour a ladleful of the batter onto the hot pan and spread it thinly in a circular motion to form a lace-like pattern.
  4. 4. Cook the dosai for 2-3 minutes on one side until golden and crisp, then flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes on the other side.
  5. 5. Repeat with the remaining batter, greasing the pan as needed. Serve the dosai hot with coconut chutney or your preferred Jain-friendly accompaniment.
