- 114G Thai Taste Basil Leaves, 114G
- 400G Casa Marrazzo Peeled Organic Tomatoes, 400G
- - Filippo Berio Mild Light Olive Oil
- 1.3 Kg Diamond Crystal Kosher Salt, 1.3Kg
- 500G Cracked Black Pepper Catering Size, 500G
Instructions
- 1. Cut 8 tomatoes into quarters and remove seeds. Pat dry and brush each side evenly with 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
- 2. Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat. Cook the tomato quarters in batches for 1 1/2 to 2 minutes on each side until blackened. Remove from skillet and let cool, reserving any juice from the skillet.
- 3. In a large bowl, toss the charred tomatoes with the reserved juice, 1/3 cup of fresh basil leaves, 1 teaspoon of kosher salt, and 1/2 teaspoon of freshly ground pepper.
- 4. Cover the bowl and let the salad stand for 1 hour, stirring occasionally to allow the flavors to meld.
- 5. Serve the salad as a refreshing dinner option, garnished with additional basil leaves if desired.
