Ingredients
- - Schwartz Flat Leaf Parsley
- 100 G East End Ground Coriander
- 1 Kg Fresh Onion Pack. 1kg - Ofoodi African Store
- 100 G Jumbo Garlic 100g
- 50G Pepper Black Ground BWFO
- 500G Trs Chick Peas
- 170G Biona Organic Tahini White 170g
- 250 Ml Trs Lemon Juice 250Ml
- 1 L Crisp N Dry Oil
- 170G Dr. Oetker Baking Powder 170g
- - Tata Salt
Instructions
- 1. Rinse and drain the Trs Chick Peas thoroughly. If using dried chickpeas, soak them overnight and cook until tender before proceeding.
- 2. Finely chop the Schwartz Flat Leaf Parsley. Set aside.
- 3. Peel and roughly chop one Fresh Onion from the Fresh Onion Pack. 1kg - Ofoodi African Store.
- 4. Peel and mince 2-3 cloves of Jumbo Garlic 100g.
- 5. In a food processor, combine the Trs Chick Peas, chopped Fresh Onion, minced Jumbo Garlic, and chopped Schwartz Flat Leaf Parsley. Pulse until the mixture is coarse but holds together when pressed.
- 6. Add 1 teaspoon of Trs Ground Cumin Jeera Powder, 1 teaspoon of East End Ground Coriander, 1/2 teaspoon of Pepper Black Ground BWFO, and 1/2 teaspoon of food-grade baking soda. Ensure the baking soda is food-grade and suitable for cooking. Pulse again to mix evenly.
- 7. Gradually add 1-2 tablespoons of Crisp N Dry Oil to the mixture to help bind it. Do not over-process; the mixture should remain slightly coarse.
- 8. Shape the mixture into small balls or patties, about the size of a golf ball.
- 9. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C). Lightly grease the air fryer basket with Crisp N Dry Oil to prevent sticking.
- 10. Place the falafel balls or patties in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Cook for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
- 11. While the falafel cooks, prepare the tahini sauce. In a small bowl, mix 2 tablespoons of Biona Organic Tahini White 170g with a splash of water, a pinch of Pepper Black Ground BWFO, and a squeeze of lemon juice (if available). Stir until smooth and creamy.
- 12. Serve the air-fried falafel warm with the tahini sauce on the side. Optionally, pair with pita bread, salad, or your favorite dipping sauce.
