  • NaN Fresh Halal Chicken Breast - Boneless Without Skin
  • 100 G Jumbo Garlic 100g
  • 1 Kg Red Onion 1kg
  • - Lee Kum Kee Premium Dark Soy Sauce
  • - Lee Kum Kee Premium Oyster Sauce
  • 1 L Ktc Sunflower Oil
  • - Billington'S Light Brown Soft Sugar

Instructions

  1. 1. Prepare the ingredients: Thinly slice the chicken breast steaks and set aside. Peel and finely chop the red onion. Peel and mince the garlic. Wash and roughly chop the basil leaves.
  2. 2. Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium-high heat.
  3. 3. Add the minced garlic and sliced red onion to the pan. Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant and the onion begins to soften.
  4. 4. Add the sliced chicken breast to the pan. Stir-fry for 5-7 minutes until the chicken is cooked through and lightly browned.
  5. 5. Crumble 2-3 whole red chillies into the pan (adjust to your spice preference) and stir well.
  6. 6. In a small bowl, mix together 1 tablespoon of dark soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of oyster sauce, 1 tablespoon of fish sauce, 1 teaspoon of light brown soft sugar, 1 teaspoon of white granulated sugar, and 2 tablespoons of chicken bone broth. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
  7. 7. Pour the sauce mixture into the pan with the chicken and stir to coat evenly. Let it simmer for 2-3 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
  8. 8. Add the chopped basil leaves to the pan and stir-fry for another 1-2 minutes until the basil is wilted and fragrant.
  9. 9. Serve the Thai Basil Chicken hot over steamed jasmine rice for a traditional option, or, if desired, with puffed rice cereal for a unique twist.
