Halal Spiced Beef and Bean Chili recipe

  • 100 G Jumbo Garlic 100g
  • 3 X 400G Garofalo Chopped Italian Tomatoes
  • 400G Dunns River Red Kidney Beans
  • 50G Pepper Black Ground BWFO
  • - Schwartz Coriander Leaf Jar
  • 500G Casa Marrazzo Peeled Organic Tomatoes With Basil, 500G
  • - Chilli Powder Rajah
  • - Trs Cumin Powder
  • - Tata Salt
  • - McCormick Gourmet Organic Cayenne Pepper MCG-24431
  • 100G Heera Black Pepper Whole 100g

Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. 2. In a large Dutch oven over medium heat, brown 1 1/2 lb of halal ground beef with 1 chopped onion until the beef is fully cooked and the onion is softened, about 8-10 minutes. Drain off any excess fat.
  3. 3. Reduce the heat to low and stir in 2 minced garlic cloves, 1 chopped tomato, 2 tbsp chili powder, 2 tsp cumin, 1/2 tsp black pepper, 1/2 tsp salt, and 1/4 tsp cayenne pepper. Mix well to combine.
  4. 4. Cover the Dutch oven and let the mixture simmer over low heat for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  5. 5. After 1 hour, taste the chili and adjust the seasonings if needed. Stir in 1 can of drained and rinsed red kidney beans and 1 can of drained and rinsed red kidney beans.
  6. 6. Cover again and continue to simmer for an additional 30 minutes, allowing the flavors to meld together.
  7. 7. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped coriander leaves before serving.
  8. 8. Serve hot with cornbread or tortilla chips on the side.
