Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Peel and finely chop the carrots, onions, and garlic. Dice the green peppers.
- Heat a large pan over medium heat and add a drizzle of olive oil. Sauté the chopped onions, garlic, and green peppers until softened and fragrant.
- Add the diced carrots to the pan and cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in the tomato sauce and ketchup. Season with ground pepper, ground nutmeg, and black salt to taste. Let the sauce simmer for 10-15 minutes to develop the flavors.
- While the sauce simmers, prepare the ricotta mixture. In a bowl, mix ricotta cheese with a pinch of ground nutmeg and set aside.
- Wash and roughly chop the spinach. Lightly sauté the spinach in a separate pan with a small amount of olive oil until wilted. Set aside.
- Slice the ham into small pieces and set aside.
- In a baking dish, spread a thin layer of the tomato sauce mixture at the bottom. Place a layer of lasagne pasta sheets on top.
- Add a layer of the ricotta mixture, followed by a layer of sautéed spinach, a sprinkle of mushrooms, and a few pieces of ham.
- Repeat the layering process: tomato sauce, lasagne sheets, ricotta mixture, spinach, mushrooms, and ham, until all ingredients are used up. Ensure the top layer is tomato sauce.
- Finish by sprinkling mozzarella evenly over the top layer.
- Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is golden and bubbling.
- Let the lasagne cool for 5-10 minutes before serving. Enjoy your delicious lasagne!
