Ingredients

  • 1 Kg Yellow/White Onion 1kg
  • 1kg 1kg Green Pepper
  • 250 G Veenas Fresh Garlic

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large skillet, heat a small amount of vegetable broth over medium heat to create a base for sautéing.
  2. 2. Add 1 diced onion and 1 diced green pepper to the skillet. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the vegetables are softened.
  3. 3. Stir in 1/2 tsp minced garlic and cook for an additional 1 minute until fragrant.
  4. 4. Add passata, 1 can (425 g) of tomato sauce, and tomato passata to the skillet. Mix well to combine.
  5. 5. Season the sauce with 1 tsp sugar, 1/2 tsp italian seasoning, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir to incorporate the spices evenly.
  6. 6. Gradually add vegetable broth to the skillet, stirring to achieve your desired sauce consistency.
  7. 7. Reduce the heat to low and let the sauce simmer uncovered for 4-5 hours, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking.
  8. 8. Serve the sauce hot over your favorite pasta or use it as a base for other dishes. Enjoy!
