Ingredients

  • 1 Packet Curry Leaves (1 Packet)
  • - Cofresh Whole Green Chilli 350g
  • - Tamicon Tamarind Concentrate 200g
  • 1 Kg Trs Chana Dal
  • 100G Greenfields Brown Mustard Seeds, 100G
  • 1 L Ktc Sunflower Oil
  • 750 G Top-Op Table Salt Drums
  • NaN Trs Haldi Powder Turmeric
  • 50G Natco Dried Chillies 50g

Instructions

  1. 1. Heat 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  2. 2. Add 1 teaspoon of brown mustard seeds to the hot oil and let them splutter.
  3. 3. Toss in 1 tablespoon each of chana dal, black eye beans in brine, and peanuts. Stir-fry until they turn golden brown.
  4. 4. Mix in 2 dried red chillies, a pinch of fennel seeds, and 8-10 curry leaves. Stir briefly until fragrant.
  5. 5. Add 1 chopped fresh green chilli and a few slivered almonds, cooking until the almonds turn golden.
  6. 6. Sprinkle in 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder and a pinch of dry fenugreek leaves, mixing well.
  7. 7. Pour in 3 tablespoons of tamarind pulp and cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
  8. 8. Gently fold in 3 cups of puffed rice, ensuring each piece is well coated with the spice mixture.
  9. 9. Season with salt to taste and mix thoroughly.
  10. 10. Serve the Pulihora warm, either on its own or with your favorite sides.
