Ingredients
- - Carnation Condensed Milk
- 200 G Amul Fresh Malai Paneer 200 G
- 1 L Daylesford Organic Whole Milk Unhomogenised
- 200G Anchor Unsalted Butter
- - Jalpur Green Cardamoms Whole
- 1 Kg White Granulated Sugar
Instructions
- 1. Crumble 200 grams of paneer and set it aside.
- 2. In a thick-bottomed pan, heat 500 ml of whole milk over medium heat until it begins to simmer. Do not bring it to a full boil.
- 3. Lower the heat and gradually add the crumbled paneer to the simmering milk, stirring gently to combine. Cook for 2-3 minutes to allow the paneer to soften and blend with the milk.
- 4. Add 250 ml of condensed milk to the mixture and stir well to combine.
- 5. Gradually add 200 grams of sugar (adjust to taste) and continue stirring until the sugar dissolves completely.
- 6. Add 1 teaspoon of freshly ground cardamom to the mixture for flavor.
- 7. Continue cooking the mixture over low heat, stirring continuously, until it thickens and starts to leave the sides of the pan. This process may take 10-15 minutes.
- 8. Grease a tray or plate with butter to prevent sticking.
- 9. Pour the thickened mixture onto the greased tray and spread it evenly using a spatula.
- 10. While the mixture is still warm, sprinkle 2-3 tablespoons of chopped roasted hazelnuts evenly on top for added texture and flavor.
- 11. Allow the Kalakand to cool at room temperature until it sets completely. You can refrigerate it for faster setting if desired.
- 12. Once firm, cut the Kalakand into desired shapes, such as squares or diamonds.
- 13. Serve and enjoy your homemade Kalakand, garnished with the roasted hazelnuts for a unique twist!
