Ingredients

  • - Rajah Jeera Whole Cumin Seeds
  • 200 G Authentic Greek Yogurt
  • 400 G Natco Natural Sesame Seeds
  • 100G Natco Asafoetida, 100G
  • 100 G Saras Turmeric Haldi Powder
  • - Ktc Gram Flour 2kg

Instructions

  1. 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 2 cups of gram flour and 1/4 cup of glutinous rice flour. Mix well to ensure an even distribution of the flours.
  2. 2. Add 1/2 teaspoon of whole cumin seeds, 1/4 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and a pinch of asafoetida to the flour mixture. These spices will enhance the flavor of the farsan.
  3. 3. Add 1/2 teaspoon of baking soda to the dry mixture. This will help make the farsan light and airy.
  4. 4. Gradually add 1/2 cup of yogurt to the dry ingredients. Mix thoroughly to form a smooth, thick batter. If the batter is too thick, add a small amount of water to adjust the consistency.
  5. 5. Heat 2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, carefully drop small portions of the batter into the oil using a spoon or your hands.
  6. 6. Fry the farsan pieces until they are golden brown and crispy. Remove them from the oil and place them on a paper towel to drain excess oil.
  7. 7. In a small pan, dry roast 1 tablespoon of sesame seeds until they are lightly golden and aromatic. Sprinkle the roasted sesame seeds over the fried farsan for added texture and flavor.
  8. 8. Serve the farsan warm as a snack or appetizer. Enjoy it with your favorite chutney or dipping sauce.
