Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) for baking the baati later.
- 2. Prepare the baati dough: In a large mixing bowl, combine East End Premium Gold Chakki Chapatti Flour, a pinch of Top-Op Table Salt Drums, and Ktc Pure Butter Ghee. Gradually add water to form a firm dough. Knead well and set aside.
- 3. Shape the baati: Divide the dough into small portions and roll them into round balls. Place them on a baking tray and set aside.
- 4. Prepare the dal: Wash the Red Lentils (Masoor Dal) thoroughly and soak them in water for 15-20 minutes.
- 5. Heat a pan with Ktc Pure Butter Ghee. Add Natco Black Mustard Seeds and allow them to splutter. Then, add Rajah Jeera Whole Cumin Seeds, Vandevi Asafoetida, and Cofresh Whole Green Chilli (chopped). Sauté for a minute.
- 6. Add Sapna Ginger Garlic Paste to the pan and cook until the raw aroma disappears. Then, add Fresh Onion (finely chopped) and sauté until golden brown.
- 7. Add Fresh Vine Tomato (chopped) to the pan and cook until soft. Stir in Saras Turmeric Haldi Powder, Chilli Powder Rajah, Natco Coriander Ground, and Rajah Garam Masala. Mix well.
- 8. Drain the soaked lentils and add them to the pan. Pour in water and cook until the lentils are soft and the dal thickens. Add Top-Op Table Salt Drums to taste.
- 9. Bake the baati: Place the prepared baati balls in the preheated oven and bake for 20-25 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden brown and crisp.
- 10. Prepare the churma: Crumble some baked baati into fine pieces. Mix in Natco Cardamom Powder, sugar or jaggery (not listed in the ingredients but essential for churma), and Ktc Pure Butter Ghee. Optionally, add crushed nuts for extra flavor.
- 11. Garnish the dal with Fresh Asian Coriander Bunch (chopped) and serve hot alongside the baked baati and prepared churma.
