Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse 1 cup of basmati rice under cold water until the water runs clear. Cook the rice according to the package instructions, then set aside.
  2. 2. In a large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil over medium heat. Add 2-3 cloves and 1 teaspoon of cumin seeds, cooking until they start to sizzle and become aromatic.
  3. 3. Finely chop 1 onion and 1 fresh green chili. Add them to the pan and sauté until the onion turns golden brown.
  4. 4. Add 1 teaspoon of grated ginger, 1 chopped tomato, 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder, and 1/2 teaspoon of garam masala powder. Stir well and cook for 5-7 minutes until the tomatoes soften.
  5. 5. Dice 200 grams of paneer into cubes and add them to the pan. Mix gently to coat the paneer in the spices.
  6. 6. Pour in 1/2 cup of milk and let it simmer for about 5 minutes. This will make the dish creamy and combine the flavors.
  7. 7. Stir in 2 tablespoons of natural yoghurt and a pinch of salt to taste. Also, add 1 teaspoon of dry fenugreek leaves by crushing them between your palms to release their aroma.
  8. 8. Finally, combine the cooked rice with the paneer mixture, stirring carefully to ensure everything is well mixed. Let it cook for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  9. 9. Serve the creamy paneer rice bowl hot, garnished with fresh coriander leaves if desired. Enjoy your delicious meal!
