Ingredients
- 100G Fresh Spices Fresh Small Green Chillies
- 1 Kg Red Onion 1kg
- 1 Kg Baby Potatoes 1kg
- 100G Natco Nigella Seeds, 100G
- 250 Ml Huilerie Beaujolaise Organic Rapeseed Oil, Cold Pressed, 250Ml
- 100G Top-Op Poppy Seeds 100g
Instructions
- 1. Begin by soaking the poppy seeds in water for about 30 minutes. Once soaked, grind them into a smooth paste and set aside.
- 2. Slice the onions thinly and set aside.
- 3. Heat the cooking oil in a pan over medium heat.
- 4. Add a pinch of nigella seeds to the hot oil and allow them to splutter.
- 5. Add the sliced onions to the pan and sauté until they turn golden brown.
- 6. Add the green chillies to the pan for a hint of spice, stirring well.
- 7. Stir in a pinch of turmeric powder and mix thoroughly.
- 8. Add the poppy seed paste to the pan and stir to coat the onions and spices evenly.
- 9. Pour in the leek and potato soup and mix well with the other ingredients. Let it simmer for a few minutes to blend the flavors.
- 10. Adjust seasoning with salt to taste. If desired, add a very small pinch of sugar to balance flavors, though this is optional and unconventional for this dish.
- 11. Cover the pan and let the mixture cook on low heat for a few minutes, stirring occasionally, until the ingredients are well combined and the dish reaches the desired consistency.
- 12. Serve hot with steamed rice.
