Ingredients
- 1 Kg Fresh Onion Pack. 1kg - Ofoodi African Store
- - Greenfields Ground Coriander
- 100G Natco Black Mustard Seeds, 100G
- 100G Natco Nigella Seeds, 100G
- 100G East End Cumin Whole Seeds
- NaN Tilda Long Grain Rice
- 100 G Rajah Garam Masala
- 100 G Saras Turmeric Haldi Powder
- 1 L Crisp N Dry Oil
- 100G Natco Fennel Seeds, 100G
- 190G Natco Garlic & Ginger Paste, 190G
- 100G Natco Kashmiri Chilli Powder, 100G
Instructions
- 1. Wash 500g arbi (taro root) thoroughly and pressure cook for 2 whistles. Peel and slice into 1/2-inch thick pieces.
- 2. Heat 2 tbsp oil in a pan. Add 1 tsp cumin seeds and let them splutter.
- 3. Add 1 finely chopped onion and sauté until golden brown.
- 4. Add 1 tbsp garlic & ginger paste and sauté for 1-2 minutes until raw smell disappears.
- 5. Add 1/2 tsp turmeric powder, 1 tsp Kashmiri chilli powder, 1 tsp ground coriander, 1/2 tsp garam masala, and 1 tbsp achari masala. Mix well.
- 6. Add the sliced arbi and gently toss to coat with the spices. Cook for 5-7 minutes on medium heat.
- 7. Add 1/2 cup water, cover, and simmer for 10 minutes until the arbi is tender and the flavors are well absorbed.
- 8. Garnish with 2 tbsp chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with roti or rice.
