Ingredients
- 50 G Vandevi Asafoetida 50g
- - Natco Turmeric
- 750 G Top-Op Table Salt Drums
- - Jalpur Red Chilli Powder Fine
- 1 Kg Superfine Gram Flour, 1Kg
- 250 Ml Ktc Jasmin Oil Cooking Oil 250Ml
Instructions
- 1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 cup of superfine gram flour, 1/4 tsp turmeric powder, 1/2 tsp red chili powder, 1/4 tsp asafoetida (hing), and 1/2 tsp salt. Mix well.
- 2. Gradually add water, a little at a time, and knead into a soft, smooth dough. The dough should not be too sticky or too dry.
- 3. Grease the inside of a sev maker or a chakli press with oil. Fit it with the small-holed sev plate.
- 4. Fill the sev maker with the prepared dough and close it tightly.
- 5. Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium flame. To test if the oil is ready, drop a small piece of dough into the oil; it should sizzle and float to the surface immediately.
- 6. Press the sev maker over the hot oil to release thin strands of sev directly into the oil. Move the press in a circular motion to create an even layer.
- 7. Fry the sev for 2-3 minutes, turning occasionally, until it turns golden and crisp. Do not overcrowd the pan.
- 8. Remove the sev using a slotted spoon and drain on a plate lined with paper towels to remove excess oil.
- 9. Repeat the process with the remaining dough. Allow the sev to cool completely before storing it in an airtight container.
