Instructions

  1. 1. Dry roast 1/4 cup of sunflower seeds in a pan on low heat for 2-3 minutes until they start to pop. Remove from heat and let them cool.
  2. 2. Grind the roasted sunflower seeds into a fine powder using a blender or spice grinder. Set aside.
  3. 3. In the same pan, dry roast 2 tbsp of white sesame seeds until they turn golden and aromatic. Remove and set aside.
  4. 4. Heat 1 tbsp of clarified butter in the pan. Add 1/4 cup of finely chopped dates and cook for 2-3 minutes until they soften.
  5. 5. Add 1/4 cup of shredded chicken (pre-cooked and finely shredded) to the pan with the dates. Stir well and cook for 2 minutes to combine the flavors.
  6. 6. Remove the mixture from the heat and let it cool slightly. Transfer to a mixing bowl.
  7. 7. Add the ground sunflower seed powder, roasted white sesame seeds, 1/8 tsp cardamom powder, and 1 tbsp of molasses to the bowl. Mix everything thoroughly to form a sticky dough.
  8. 8. Grease your palms with a little clarified butter and shape the mixture into small laddus (balls) about 1 inch in diameter.
  9. 9. Let the laddus set at room temperature for 30 minutes before serving or storing in an airtight container.
