Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 180°C (350°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- 2. In a mixing bowl, combine 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1/4 cup unsalted butter (softened), 1/2 cup brown sugar, and 1/4 cup granulated sugar. Cream together until smooth and fluffy using a whisk or hand mixer.
- 3. Add 1/2 tsp vanilla extract and 1/4 cup milk. Mix until well combined.
- 4. In a separate bowl, sift together 1 cup all-purpose flour, 1/2 tsp baking soda, and 1/4 tsp salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- 5. Scoop out small portions of dough (around 1 tbsp each) and roll into balls. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, spacing them out evenly.
- 6. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes until they are lightly golden. Remove from the oven and let them cool for 5 minutes.
- 7. While the cookies are cooling, melt 1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips and 1 tbsp butter in a microwave-safe bowl, heating in 20-second intervals and stirring until smooth.
- 8. Using the melted chocolate, attach 1 mini peanut butter cup to the center of each cookie as the spider body.
- 9. Draw spider legs around the peanut butter cup using a piping bag filled with melted chocolate. Add two small dots of white chocolate or icing for the eyes, and use tiny chocolate chips for pupils.
- 10. Let the cookies set for 15 minutes or until the chocolate hardens. Serve and enjoy!
