Ingredients
- - Cofresh Whole Green Chilli 350g
- 1 Kg Fresh Onion Pack. 1kg - Ofoodi African Store
- 1 Kg Carrots - 1kg
- 500 G Elite Double Roasted Rava Semolina
- 500G Ghee, 500G
- 100G Greenfields Brown Mustard Seeds, 100G
- 1 Packet Curry Leaves (1 Packet)
Instructions
- 1. Heat a pan on medium flame and dry roast the semolina for 4-5 minutes until it turns slightly golden and aromatic. Keep stirring to avoid burning. Once roasted, transfer it to a plate and set aside.
- 2. Heat 2 tablespoons of ghee in a pan on medium flame. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter. Then add urid beans and sauté until they turn golden brown. Add sliced green chilli, ginger garlic paste, curry leaves, and coriander seeds. Sauté for 1-2 minutes until aromatic.
- 3. Add finely chopped onion and sauté until they turn soft and translucent. Then add diced carrots, green peas, and cook for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly tender.
- 4. Add 2 cups of water to the pan and bring it to a boil. Slowly add the roasted semolina while stirring continuously to avoid lumps. Reduce the flame to low and cook, stirring occasionally, until the water is absorbed and the upma thickens.
- 5. Once the upma has thickened, add black dhal with lentils and coconut cream, and shredded coconut. Mix well and cook for another 2 minutes on low flame to incorporate the flavors.
- 6. Turn off the flame and garnish with coriander leaves. Serve hot and enjoy!
