Instructions

  1. 1. Preheat your oven to 200°C (392°F). Lightly grease a baking tray with 1 tablespoon of olive oil and set aside.
  2. 2. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1 minute until fragrant. Add the diced green bell pepper and cook for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  3. 3. Meanwhile, season the chicken breast with cumin, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Add the chicken to the skillet and cook for 6-8 minutes per side until fully cooked. Remove from heat and shred the chicken using two forks.
  4. 4. In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cooked green bell pepper, and shredded cheddar cheese. Mix well to create the flauta filling.
  5. 5. Lay out the flour tortillas and divide the filling evenly among them. Roll each tortilla tightly into a cigar shape and place it seam-side down on the prepared baking tray.
  6. 6. Bake the flautas in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. 7. While the flautas are baking, prepare the avocado-lime crema. In a blender, combine the avocado, lime juice, sour cream, and green chili. Blend until smooth and creamy.
  8. 8. Serve the crispy flautas immediately with the avocado-lime crema on the side for dipping.
