- 110G Houghton Organic Sliced Dry Cured Ham
- - Tate Lyle Granulated Sugar
- 110G Gourmet Kitchen Himalayan Pink Salt Grinder
Instructions
- 1. Preheat the oven to 220°C (200°C fan) or gas mark 7. Line a baking tray with parchment paper.
- 2. Heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced onions, a pinch of salt, and 1 teaspoon of sugar. Cook for 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the onions are golden brown and caramelized. Remove from heat and set aside.
- 3. While the onions cook, prepare the flatbread base. Place the flatbreads on the lined baking tray and brush each with a light layer of olive oil.
- 4. Spread 2 tablespoons of crème fraîche evenly over each flatbread, leaving a small border around the edges.
- 5. Distribute the caramelized onions evenly across the flatbreads. Top with the shredded ham and grated cheddar cheese.
- 6. Bake the flatbreads in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling and the edges of the flatbreads are crisp.
- 7. Remove from the oven and sprinkle with fresh thyme leaves for an aromatic finish. Slice into portions and serve immediately.
