Ingredients
- 200 ml Ghee
- - Green Peas
- 500 g Onion
- 100 g Coriander Leaves
- 100 g Lemon
- 500 g Rava
- 250 g French Beans
- 250 g Carrot
- medium Chilli Green Long
- 100 g Curry Leaves
- 100 g Salt
- 20 g Turmeric Powder
- 100 g Yellow Mustard Seeds
Instructions
- 1. Dry roast the semolina in a pan on medium heat for 5-6 minutes until aromatic and slightly golden. Set aside.
- 2. Heat ghee in a large pan on medium heat. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter, then add curry leaves and chopped green chili.
- 3. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 2-3 minutes until translucent. Stir in the diced carrot, green beans, and green peas and cook for 3-4 minutes.
- 4. Mix in the turmeric powder and salt, then pour in 400ml of water. Bring the mixture to a boil.
- 5. Gradually add the roasted semolina to the boiling mixture, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.
- 6. Lower the heat and cook the upma for 5-6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until it reaches a soft, porridge-like consistency.
- 7. Turn off the heat and mix in the lemon juice and chopped coriander. Let the upma rest for 2 minutes before serving.
