  • 100 g Coriander Leaves
  • 250 G Masur Dal
  • 250 g Spinach
  • 500 g Tomato - Hybrid
  • medium Chilli Green Long
  • 100 g Jeera
  • 20 g Turmeric Powder
  • - Coriander Powder
  • 100 g Red Chili Powder
  • 50 g Asafoetida Powder
  • 100 g Salt
  • 1 liter Sunflower Oil

Instructions

  1. 1. Rinse the red lentils thoroughly under running water until the water runs clear, then set them aside.
  2. 2. Heat the cooking oil in a large pot over medium heat. Add the cumin seeds and asafoetida, and sauté for 30 seconds until aromatic.
  3. 3. Stir in the chopped green chili and tomatoes. Cook for 5-7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the tomatoes become soft and form a sauce.
  4. 4. Add the turmeric powder, ground coriander, and red chili powder to the pot, and cook for 1 minute to bloom the spices.
  5. 5. Add the rinsed lentils to the pot along with 3 cups of water. Stir well and bring the mixture to a boil.
  6. 6. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and simmer for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the lentils are tender and have absorbed most of the liquid.
